Overview of the Super Traction SafeTipTM Model 1  and Model 2

The  Super Traction SafeTipTM Model 1 has a one-piece connector body and is designed to slip over the end of a crutch or walking cane shaft after the rubber tip has been removed. The Model 1 is secured to the shaft using two standard 6mm x 20mm screws.

The Super Traction SafeTipTM Model 2 has a two-piece connector body and is designed to clamp over the end of a crutch or walking cane shaft without removal of the rubber tip. The Model 2 is secured to the shaft using four standard 6mm x 40mm screws.

General comparison of the Super Traction SafeTipTM Model 1 and Model 2

The Model 1 is slightly smaller and lighter than the Model 2 and is appropriate for installation on crutch and walking cane shaft ends that are relatively smooth and not tapered.

The Model 2 is well suited for installation on crutch and walking cane lower ends that are tapered, oval-shaped and/or have lumpy-bumpy surface features typical of natural wood shafts.

By using hard rubber compression strips (included with the attachments), both the Model 1 and Model 2 will fit walking cane and crutch shafts from 3/4 to 1 inch in diameter.

The  Super Traction SafeTipTM Model 1 and Model 2 install quickly and easily on a wide variety of walking canes and crutches. 

However, because a safe and secure installation is desired, some attention to detail, both before purchase (to ensure you receive a device that will fit your cane) ... and ... after purchase (to ensure that your installation is safe and secure), is needed.
